The Regional Transportation Strategy is a long-range plan that explains how people will live, work, and move around in Metro Vancouver today and in the future. Our current plan, the Regional Transportation Strategy (RTS) Strategic Framework helps guide our transportation decisions to 2045. The priority actions we’ve started to deliver on are detailed in the 10-Year Vision, which was developed by the Mayors' Council in 2014. Those actions are being delivered in phases as funding becomes available.

The Phase 1 Investment Plan was approved in November 2016 and began implementation in 2017. The Phase 2 Investment Plan was approved on June 28, 2018.

We are now turning our attention to what comes next.

We want to know how we can best meet the needs of residents and our communities over the next 30 years. To do that, we’ll be reaching out to people throughout Metro Vancouver to talk about the future. With your input, we’ll complete a thorough update to the existing long-range transportation plan.

Opportunities for you to participate in the update process will be coming in 2019. Stay tuned!
